Joseph Drouhin Chorey les Beaune 2017Very pleasant wine. Bright, clear red colour. Aromas are surprising in their intensity and fruit. On the palate, a tender, supple, graceful, round body. Very flavourful in the aftertaste, with a hint of blackberry jam. When the wine gets older, wild blackberry is the dominant aroma. After 3 or 5 years, the wine takes on a distinctive smell of truffle and undergrowth evolving towards notes of venison. Cellaring 5 to 6 years.

Casar de Burbia Mencío Bierzo CasarStaff Comments: From Bierzo, Spain and just fantastic! Deep colors of purple with violet reflections. Aromas of Blackberries, raspberries, touches of sweet spice and leather. Medium bodied, yet full of flavor. What a complex wine for the price! Dark fruits of blackberry, black plums, ripe red raspberries are balanced with white pepper, Madagascar vanilla and layers of earth and minerals. Balance is the name of the game here. Starts rather fruit forward but evolves almost instantly to a gripping amount of acidity, just before you think its too much the wine evolves again to a smooth vanilla and smokey finish. Great Wine to pair with Grilled flank steak.
