It is with overflowing gratitude that we announce we have won Readers' Choice for Best Liquor Store as part of Westword's annual Best of Denver awards. This isn't just a win for us, but a continuation of our legacy as we celebrate the seventh consecutive year of receiving this honor. This milestone is not just a testament to our store, but also a reflection on the amazing, continued support from our community. So we thank you!!

Something - Abracadabra B - flavored blonde ale

Next from the innovative minds at Something Brewing comes this butterscotch honey blonde ale. It pours a translucent, golden color with a large, dense and foamy, white head. The nose is bold with aromas of butterscotch right away, which are accented by hints of honey and grainy malts. The body sits at a medium weight with a medium-light carbonation and a lightly silky mouth feel. The palate is way more balanced than the nose. You still get butterscotch, honey and grainy malts here, but in fairly equal amounts, along with an added hint of bitterness on the finish. This is a refreshing and tasty beer. Review by Dan Chacon

Crooked Stave - Tropical Juicy East Coast IPA - New England style hazy IPA

Today we'll be taking a look at a delicious hazy IPA from Crooked Stave, Tropical Juicy East IPA! This beer pours with a low rising white head, mellow carbonation, and a light orange color with a lot of haze in the glass. The scent perfumes the air with a blend of fresh citrus, tropical fruit, and floral hop characteristics. The first sip explodes with bold fruit flavors. Mango and pineapple fading into acidic citrus flavors to balance the sweet side, while finishing silky smooth. This is another home run from Crooked Stave, taking their already tasty Juicy East, and adding a whole new depth of tropical flavor. Grab a pack before they're gone! Review by Jon Blankenship

Wiley Roots - Breakfast at Wileys: Dutch Cocoa Vanilla Coffee - flavored milk stout

I always enjoy the Breakfast at Wiley’s beers, but this one seemed easier to drink than a lot of them that I have tried. It pours a very dark brown color with a large, dense and foamy, mocha colored head. On the nose you get a significant amount of cocoa up front, followed by a light roasty character, vanilla, lactose, and hints of coffee. The beer has a medium-heavy body, with medium-light carbonation, creating a smooth mouth feel. The palate mirrors the nose on this one along with an added oat character on the mid-palate. The cocoa lingers through the finish and on the exhale, but not cloyingly so. Review by Dan Chacon

Burlington Beer Co - Ancient Lore - spelt lager

Today we'll be taking a look at a fantastic lager from Burlington Brewery Company, the Ancient Lore spelt lager! This beer pours with a moderate white head full of big bubbles, an amber color, and tingly carbonation in the glass. The aroma is consistent with the profile of a classic German-Style lager. Toasty malts forming the base, with slightly nutty notes on the nose. The flavor is full of that complex old-world style spelt profile, rich and malty in nature, but finishes with a crisp drinkable finish. Burlington’s modern take on this time-honored beer style is a great example of old meets new, and an all-around great buy! Review by Jon Blankenship

Elevation Beer Co - Idol Time - fruited tropical IPA

This IPA from Elevation makes one yearn for the warm sunny months with its tropical character and addition of coconut and pineapple. It pours a hazy burnt yellow color with a large, dense and foamy, off-white head. The nose is a nice bouquet of coconut, pineapple, and tropical hops with hints of grainy malts playing in the background. The body and carbonation both sit at a medium level and despite the beer’s juicy nature, it still manages to finish slightly dry. On the palate you get fruity tropical hops up front, followed by a moderate amount of pineapple, while light grainy malts come through mid-palate. The coconut finally surfaces on the finish along with a moderate amount of bitterness to balance it, before dropping of into that slightly dry ending. Review by Dan Chacon

Rogue - Honey Kolsch - flavored kolsch

Today we'll be taking a look at an easy sipping beer from Rogue Brewing, the Honey Kolsch! This beer pours with a tall, foamy white head, energetic carbonation, and a golden color in the glass that maintains a good clarity. The scent is clean and subtly sweet. A grainy aroma working into floral notes of honey, for a pleasantly light body. The first sip is crisp. The palate presents a biscuity grain backbone with notes of sweet honey complementing the light refreshing body. This is a fantastic Kolsch for anyone that wants a super crushable beer that will keep you refreshed and coming back for more! Review by Jon Blankenship

Here is yet another collaboration beer that we did with Upslope Brewing Company which we recently received in the store!

This unique bottle is a collaboration with Argonaut Wine & Liquor, who provided the barrels for this project, which formerly held some of the most coveted bourbons in the world. A colossal imperial stout was held in these casks for two years to take on all of the complexities of the oak and the former liquid that was held within the barrels. The palate delivers waves of bittersweet chocolate, candied almonds, and dark maple syrup that finishes with a full body followed by a warming exhale. 18.6% abv

Both of these Argonaut collaboration beers are now on sale at a great price! So, pick some up before they’re gone forever!
