Pannier Brut Selection
Staff Comments: A true French Champagne; Rated 91 points from Wine Spectator Magazine and stunning! Aromas of white ginger and baked apricots. The mousse is elegant; the taste divine! Hints of brioche, crème brulee; lemon sorbet and a dry, crisp finish make this very pleasant and gorgeous. You’ll love the macadamia nut finish. Serve this with lobster rolls, bked oysters or an aged Amsterdam/Gouda Cheese.
*An Argonaut Select Product.
Wine SpectatorThis restrained wine integrates its firm acidity nicely, which provides a backbone for the hints of white peach, lemon curd, dried apple, ground white pepper and smoke. A bit shy today, but try with charcuterie or other light fare to open it up. Drink now through 2016. 3,000 cases imported.
Wine & SpiritsA blend of 50 percent pinot noir, 30 percent chardonnay and 20 percent pinot meunier, this rosé includes 15 percent still red wine to deepen the color. It's cool and zesty, a contrast of fresh pink grapefruit and candied cherry flavors, all girded and focused by limestone acidity. A gentle rasp of earthiness comes up in the end, balancing and extending the fruit flavor. Pour it with Dungeness crab. Tri-Vin Imports, Mount Vernon, NY
Wine EnthusiastA blend of the three Champagne grapes in roughly equal proportions has produced this balanced, soft and creamy wine. With a ripe dosage and a smooth texture, it is an easy wine. White fruits and light acidity make it attractive to drink now.
