The dictionary definition of ‘Riposte’ (pronounced rip-posst) is comeback, reply, retort, or in the context of the sport of fencing a quick counter stroke. After over a decade of confusion about his name ‘Riposte’ was chosen as an appropriate name for a ‘comeback label’ by Tim Knappstein. A truly excellent year for Pinot Gris. Mouth filling fresh cuts of pear and apple entwined with spice and floral nuances. Rich fruit resolves in a lingering finish of crisp acidity. Vibrant and lifted will develop additional depth over 2-3 years. Embraces an almost Alsatian mentality in the delivery of this pinot gris with some deep-running layers of spice. Vibrant and enticing. Trademark apple, pear, lemon drop, dried fruit, bergamot and spice. Smooth and even with great persistence. Fine and elegant. Made in the methode traditionelle, Pétiyante comes with serious sparkling wine credentials in a style & price point for any occasion. On the nose, it offers lemon tart, baked apples, white floral & citrus zest. On the palate, a super fine bead with hints of nashi pear, white peach, grapefruit & brioche from time on lees. A crisp elegant finish wraps up the delicious package. Perfect for any social occasion, Pétiyante pairs beautifully with Kangaroo Island oysters, prawns, frittata & asparagus. |

| We think of this wine as the sister to Springflat Shiraz. Luscious and textural, the Ducks & Drakes blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc delivers all their classic characters in a very "Heathcote" style. The wine is full bodied, luscious and driven. The grapes are fully de-stemmed, then fermented in open fermenters, gently hand plunged and pumped over to soften tannins, then basket pressed into French and American oak barriques, hogsheads and puncheons, 40% of which are new. A wine that can be carefully cellared for up to 15 years. |
