Piattelli Reserve Malbec 2017
A striking, slightly smoky wine with a deep burgundy hue, Premium Reserve Malbec’s fruity bouquet delights the senses and warms the palate with notes of blackberries, blueberries and lavender, lingers with a gentle tannin pull, and finishes with subtle flavors of toasted hazelnuts.
|Region||Argentina, Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo|
Wine SpectatorA big wine, full of concentrated dried fig, blackberry and dark plum flavors, supported by firm tannins. Dark chocolate and spice details show on the finish. Drink now through 2021. 40,600 cases made, 26,000 cases imported.
Wine AdvocateI found the 2017 Reserve Luján de Cuyo Malbec to be very oaky and the wood covered the varietal character that comes through in the palate with some violet and cherry flavors and the polished, round tannins of the variety. There is good freshness and clean flavors, it would be so much better with less oak... An oaky commercial Malbec. 540,000 bottles produced.
