Brand Carpineto
Named for the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, the term nobile has historical roots in the original practice of reserving this wine exclusively for the aristocratic families of the area. Carpineto's Vino Nobile is produced from fruit harvested exclusively from their Montepulciano Estate. The ethereal bouquet shows elegant notes of violet and toasted oak nuances. Bold fruit flavors envelope the palate with a velvety, elegant texture and long finish, it is dry and full in style. This Riserva benefits from extensive aging in a combination of Slavonian and French oak barrels for 18-24 months, followed by 12 months in bottle.

Complex and harmonious, this polished red is saturated with black cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, incense and iron aromas and flavors, revealing fruit, savory and mineral elements on the aftertaste. Beautifully balanced, with enough tannins to age another decade or longer. Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Drink now through 2033. 12,500 cases made, 6,500 cases imported.

The Carpineto 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is dark and thick with lots of black and purple fruit packed tight within. Despite the opulance of the mouthfeel, the wine never feels heavy. Indeed, that fresh acidity adds pretty lift to the mouthfeel. The blend is 80% Sangiovese and 20% Canaiolo delivered throughout this 150,000-bottle release.

The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is dark and broody, showing wild herbs and earth tones before giving way to red plum nuances. This flows across the palate with a pleasant inner sweetness yet takes on a bit of a rustic flair as dank mineral tones mix with over-ripe cherr-berry fruits. The 2018 finishes lightly structured, leaving clove and balsamic spice dashes to taper off slowly.
