Matias Riccitelli The Party 2017 Bottle
|Region||Argentina, Uco Valley, Lujan de Cuyo|
Wine AdvocateA new, fresh unoaked Malbec from the Valle de Uco, the 2017 The Party comes from young vines and fermented with a majority of full clusters, which were foot trodden with indigenous yeasts in open concrete pools. It was kept in concrete for eight months. It's very balsamic and has tons of aromatic herbs in a way that makes me think of a vermouth. It's spicy and has a medium-bodied palate with serious balance between tannins, alcohol and acidity, enough to make it easy to drink but not banal. Really tasty. A great debut. 20,000 bottles were filled in December 2017.
Wine EnthusiastNatural berry aromas are tight, lean and snappy. This foot-trod and cement-aged Malbec is grabby and solid in feel. Tangy red-plum and currant flavors are a touch salty, while this is as firm, dry, fresh and juicy as Malbec gets across the finish.
