The wine has all the style and elegance of a fine Margaux. The black currant fruits, while still young, exhibit a structured, spacious character, ripe with a fine balance. Touches of wood aging are just right, giving the wine a polished character. Drink from 2027.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Mongravey has a classic nose of cassis, cedar and pencil lead, leading to wafts of cloves and fertile loam. The medium-bodied palate is delicately played and refreshing, featuring ripe, grainy tannins and just enough mid-palate fruit, finishing with lovely purity.

Sleek and direct, with a mix of red and black cherry reduction notes lined with a licorice hint. Polished, open finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2028. 6,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.

The 2020 Mongravey has a comparatively more austere bouquet, backward and tertiary at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a dark chocolate tinged entry, the wood just a little prominent on the finish at the moment. Give it a couple more years in bottle.
