Staff Comments: DOCG=Highest Quality! 100% Sangiovese from Italy and stunning! Let this open up for 15 minutes and it turns to velvet. Mats and his friends had this and were blown away! Dried cranberries and licorice root on the nose. It's medium bodied; supple and decadent. Blueberry compote, black walnuts, white pepper with macerated cherries. It's rustic yet soft and incredibly tasty! Serve this with dry rubbed chicken wings, charcuterie, or a lasagna al forno. We LOVED this!

Winemaker's Notes -Bright and deep ruby red color. The nose is intense with typical ripe wild berries such as blackberry and raspberry followed by spicy hints in which the note of licorice is dominant, accompanied by notes of tobacco. It is a full-bodied, austere wine, with succulent tannins and a fresh acidity. A long and expressive finish characterized by blood orange notes.
