Ripe, fleshy blueberries and raspberries drive this red blend without too much oak getting in the way. There's an underbelly of flowers, cinnamon and peppery spice. The tannins are typically muscular, while the fruit is juicy, silky and fresh.

Robust wild berry, plum, licorice and roasted herb flavors show a tangy blood orange note on the muscular finish, where cedar, tobacco and black walnut details linger with hints of spice. Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. Drink now.

D'Arenberg's 2017 The Stump Jump Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre is a blend of 46% Grenache, 42% Shiraz and just 12% Mourvèdre. Almost-sweet-tasting cherry fruit leads the way on the nose, accented by hints of licorice, tree bark and truffle, while the medium to full-bodied palate is supple and ripe, with very little tannin evident on the finish. Drink it over the next couple of years.
