The intense pink color is characteristic of a great Tavel and shines with bright red glints. Aromas of raspberry and strawberry share the glass with peppery notes. The wine is balanced and flavorful, and the finish is long with caramel notes. It is a gastronomic rosé that pairs with every part of the meal from aperitif through dessert. Food Pairing Pair with barbeque, red meat, dessert, or fruit.

This medium-bodied, dry rosé offers intensely fresh, concentrated strawberry, raspberry and watermelon flavors. It’s juicy yet invigorating and mineral. A blend of Grenache, Clairette, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, it’s a structured, penetrating wine that will gain depth and complexity through 2022 and serve well in the colder months with game or poultry. Deep pink color; lush and silky palate. This rosé is slightly off-dry, giving it a lovely roundness. Anthony Dias Blue Review

Robust and full of character, with good cut and minerality balancing the red currant and raspberry flavors with savory anise and chalk. Smoked thyme and crushed stone notes sit in the backdrop, with a gentle tug of structure on the well-defined finish. A rosé for food. Grenache, Syrah, Clairette, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Bourboulenc. Drink now through 2026. 15,000 cases made, 4,000 cases imported.

Almost half Grenache, with the rest mostly Cinsault, Clairette, Mourvedre and Syrah, the 2022 Tavel even includes small proportions of Bourboulenc and Picpoul. If you can hold off opening a bottle until this summer, or even into the fall, that would be a good idea, or else decant in advance of serving. Right now, there's a touch of austerity to the wine, with scents of wet stone reducing the impact of red berries and citrus on the nose, and the full-bodied palate seems just a bit pinched and tight but with the potential to blossom in a few months.
